7.3L PSD engine rev at startup

7.3L PSD engine rev at startup
I have a 2002 Excursion 7.3L PSD, every now and when it starts up it the engine revs up and down until I press on the accelerator. Any idea why this is happening?

When was the last time you changed your oil? What kind of oil are you using? How cold is it outside when this happens?
Sounds like you're experiencing the romps.
Do a quick search using the term "romps" in the 7.3L Diesel forum and you'll understand what the romps are, and if that's what you're experiencing.
