2000 v-10 real mods

are there any work to be done inside the motor, higher compression piston head work, cam, it just seems 300 hp is low for a motor this size. anybody seen one with a turbo.

seen one with a turbo why yes. the users name is happyhour he turbo'd his V10 drop his name in a search. Best way to get more kick hands down, gears, supercharger/turbo, tuner, exhaust system

keep in mind the engine wasnt build for HP its built for towing/hauling loads with gobs of TQ.

well mabey 2 small turbos and spool it early on the rpm,s.

With trucks, it's all about the torque. My Ranger only makes about 146 some horses, but 200 some lb. ft. on a 3.0. It's the same reason the 7.3L was only 200 some HP, but 535 lb. ft. of torque.

what about higher compression piston, why is the 5.4 so buildable and the v10 is the same engine with 2 more pistons.

You can only go so high with the CR before you run into big detonation issues, especially under heavy load. Anything you can do to a 5.4L you can do to a 6.8L, it just costs more.
