Window Tint
I haven't seen any "Good" do it yourself kits. Most of them I have seen look pretty bad. By the way, make sure you check out the laws in your state for window tinting. A friend of mine's son had his windows done, and then wouldn't pass state inspection. Too dark they said.
Anyway, good luck.

I've gotten my windows tinted professionally since I've lived in Texas, nearly 16 years now. The last vehicle was a '99 Civic EX coupe that I had done by Moonshadow in Plano (behind Chili's at Park Blvd right off of Hwy. 75). (I've also used Sun Masters, but Moonshadow had the best price/guarantee at that time.) I don't know why but Japanese makes don't seen to have the air conditioning capacity to keep up with the summer heat here. In any case, they did a great job, gave a lifetime guarantee, is completely legal and was reasonably priced at ~$200 for 5 windows, no seams. It really helped improve cooling performance and eliminated interior fading.
Doing the job yourself is not real difficult, at least for regularly shaped and sized windows. It becomes fairly difficult to make it look good on back glass or irregularly shaped glass.
Also, there is a safety benefit to window tinting as the film will hold the shards of a broken window together, preventing the occupants from being cut by flying glass. My wife had a rock kicked up and break the driver side window on my truck a few years ago. The film held all the pieces in place at 70 mph, preventing the broken window from blowing into the truck. Needless to say, she's been sold on the benefits since then.
Good Luck!
John
