I'm wondering if there is a trick to getting the air filter out of my 6.0L PSD? I opened the clips on the top, but it seems to be hanging up on something on the bottom? Am I missing something?
At the bottom of the filter there are retainers that hold the front and rear covers in place.. The filter has pins which seat into grommets directly under the filter.
Here's what i've found to be the easiest way to remove the AF..
Disengage the rear filter clips...
Pull the filter minder from it's grommet and disconnect MAF harness..
Loosen the big hose clamp where the flex meets the hard tube before the turbo..
Remove the flex section..
The rear cover for the filter can be removed now.. It'll take some wiggling to get it loose from the retainers on the bottom of the filter..
Disengage the front filter cover clips..
Pull up on the filter and out towards the rear..More wiggling to get it loose from the front cover..
