I had to drop to 2nd gear then use the brakes to keep the rpm's down. Pulled over half way down to check the temps on the brakes with the infrared thermo but they were ok at 230 degrees. I was just worried. Decel will be added soon.
No doubt you are heavier than I am, but the way it held me back, I have no doubt it will work for you. I ran with OD off only hit the decel every time I needed to slow down. It even amazed my wife and that ain't easy. She didn't want me to take it out, but I was going slower than the big rigs.
I also am having really high EGT's, but boost is good.
I have the norm stuff 4" exhaust, intake, and the DP tuner. My EGT's get up there really fast no matter what tune I am using. It's just a matter of how fast, it takes a little longer in 80T then it does in 140, but thy will get up to around 1500+. I am boosting to 25psi and my uppipes look ok there is a little bit of soot but not much. My boost tap is at the AIH delete, so I don't think I have any leaks on the intake side.
Maybe my intercooler is full of oil (no ccv yet) and is not working like it should be. My tranny is slipping so I don't know if that has an effect or not.
I am at a loose for why thy get so high. I can't even get all the way through a gear with the pedel to the floor without having to back off.
Could be a couple things that come to mind. If you have no boost leaks or exhaust leak, then it could be a poor performing intercooler, get that ccv done and try to source a 6.0 intercooler as a cheap upgrade. Won't help much, but every little bit helps. It could be a very worn HPOP preventing a good burn in the cylinder, so you have a lot of smoke?
Mine get up to 1500 briefly on occasion in the 140 too.
Maybe some others have better ideas.
