My truck gets worked from time to time. I have a flatbed I haul stuff with, mostly vehicles.

Here's an earlier pic before I got my stacks on.

The main reason there is not many f trucks over here is because it is expensive to convert them and for the most part ford did not build rhd. All the jap and euro manufacturers build rhd ready to import. Ford did in a brazilian plant from 2001 until 2006 so they started selling them then but they were about $90,000 new. when they were coming in they were very popular and there is plenty of them on the road. Not so many of the likes of mine but I like having something different. Nowdays you have to import them again and I saw one at "F TRUCKS WA" the other day 09 F-450 LARIAT selling for $187,000 new and converted.

Hey West Aussie are those "Roo Bars" like they put on the big trucks and road trains over there? Certainly an interesting setup you got there.

Dave howcome you haven't converted your truck to a dually?

Anyway I think the biggest load my truck has hauled so far is my motorcycle. haha

Although, I did haul a couple pumps at work one time that probably weighed more than the motorcycle and took up less space.

Do older vehicles have to be RHD too? I know in canada there is a cut off date for cars and trucks that are beyond a certain age. We have plenty of japanese imports crawling around here mainly because you can't get the nicer diesel vans an light pickups factory original here. Emissions thing.

I'm toying with the idea of sending an 87 diesel ranger down to a relative in oz, but not sure if its possible.

The cost of the new converted RHD trucks make me wonder if I'm in the wrong busines Practically double what they sell for on a good day up here.

Dave S's truck always has impressed me. I'd love to get a peak at it in person, and he's not too awfully far from where I am. Unfortunately, the MAX I can legally plate for here is 9,000 GVWR, but I'm at 8,600 because I didn't want to go through the extra expense to up it here in PA. I can run max combined weight of 26,000 without a CDL and I believe I have to be under 40' total length. Lots of nice working trucks here, let's see more!

yeah its not light at all i kinda chuckle when u guys throw out ur numbers i wont say mine cus its not pretty ...

and as for the dually set up its a after market dually adapter ...with wheels that have a smaller diameter so that it sits on the axle n not the studs... n spaces out the tires further... i am currently looking at purchasing yet another truck for parts i found a 91 model with a actuall dually rear end ...good bed.. and engine n tranny for back ups...

I pull some hay every month usually not much just 50 bales. And my mud truck now and again when I can borrow a big enough trailer. Pull plenty of trees and stuck trucks out too.

99 7.3 - A PICKUP Dually axle is what you need. The Cab and Chassis (dumps, flatbeds, etc.) trucks have a 34" wide frame and the spring perches are located farther inside on the axle versus a pickup SRW and DRW. The pickup axles can be interchanged. The Cab and Chassis will not fit on a pickup. Find a crew cab dually parts trucks and use that rear end. But...obviously from the picture of melons...the spacer hasn't failed you yet. Nice load.
A loaded N/A IDI sounds sooo nice. I've never heard a loaded IDI with a turbo yet.

Ghunt, Yeah same idea but the bigger trucks call them BULLBARS. When I drove trucks up north a few years ago we were driving tri-drive Kenworth 650's with two semi's and a b double behind. Basically four trailers and a rolling weight of around 140 tons. We were on a company road so no cops and we sat on around 120-130km/h. We were taught not to slow down for anything smaller than a donkey, of which we have plenty of feral's. So if you saw a roo, sheep, emu, cow or a bull you had to put the boot into it to pull trailers out straight and drive through it. Generally most would go straight under without to much damage. Donkey's have heads that are to hard and do to much damage, a water buffalo will put a horn through your radiator and camels and horses are just to damn big. If you see one of them you just pray because stoping 140 tons is not so easy. Fortunatley they are less common so rarely had trouble with them. If you try to stop to quickly the brakes on the last trailer react slower than the truck so they tend to fold up and the trailer overtakes you which is never fun and always messy.

David85, If the vehicle is more than 15 years old then I don't think you have to convert it but I also heard that to import a vehicle you have to have owned it for twelve months in the country of origin or you pay full import duty of the vehicle value. There is dealers here that specialize in importing converted cars or importing them and then converting them here but I think you still pay full duty as they are very pricey. Are the jap cars there rhd that need to be made lhd or do you have rhd aswell. Your relative would want to talk to customs to get the correct info but I think if it was easy or cheap we would all doing it as there is definitley a market for them.
