How hard is it to put new A/C coolant in for yourself? I dont feel like payin someone to do it if its a pretty simple task. Also i just replaced my master cylinder and now when i brake it makes a clicking noise kind of like a pop. Its prety un noticeable unless im at idle but i just dnt want another master cylinder going out.
The easiest thing to do is go to your favorite parts store and pick up one of those R134 conversion kits. The instructions are fairly clear and the conversion is not difficult. It will work the best if you get the old refrigerant oil evacuated first as the oils are what is not compatible between R12 and R134.
Check the linkage at the top of the clutch pedal where the master cylinder pushrod attaches for the popping noise.
thanks scott, I did some more research yesterday and i am thinking that its not worth the time and effort to do it myself. Im jus going to take her in and get it done right. It wouldnt be a big deal if my windows worked, but i cant get the dang motors out of the door, any suggestions?
If wou still have some cooling left keep the system with r12, if you want to convert to 134a pickup a conversion kit, get the old r12 recoverd, pull the system apart and flush the condensor evapator hoses and compressor and replace the dryer and o tube and replace all the orings, resamble averything ,vacccum down to 30 inches of vac, charge with 134a to 80% of the r12 capacity . use only vrgin 134A Do not use any refrigent that has sealers in it. also get a manifold gage set and get some pressures of the system befor tearing it apart
Only if you let the oils mix. As long as you keep the 134 can upright and only let the gas into the system it will work fine.
I had laugh at that. The best way to keep they system from getting craped up is the flush the old befor adding new. and only use vergin refrigent there is a loght of crap on the market promising quick fixes
