Well im currently building a 302 out of a 89 mustang to put in my 77 f100. I will be converting the truck over to efi with mass flow and also adding a set of gt40 heads off of a 96 explorer . But im not sure on what cam to use , i dont want to have to use stall converter to get any bottom end but i want the truck to nice lopeing sound and good all around preformance. Any one have any ideas or experience with or for a cam ???
I have a 94 mustang with GT40P heads and a trick flow stage one.I do like the performance and it does have a great idle. But it is a 5 speed.I am not too sure how well it would work with an auto.
The E cam is pretty good but it sacrifics some TQ below 2500rpm for peak HP and should be paired with gears.. Lew has 4.56's in his truck. With a stock TC and gears a cam that produces better low rpm power will be more responsive so maybe consider a cam such as the Comp 35-320-8, here's a comparison..
