i haven't checked but i believe the rear end would be a 8.8,and yes the front is a ttb.as for tuning,it has the feedback carb,as long as every thing works it should be fine,if not that carb, distributor, and ignition module will be replaced.i will start collecting the pieces once i get her on the road.
I couldn't tell from one of the pics, I saw the side of the rearend housing and I wasn't sure.
One thing I can say about TTB is that it gives a great ride. My truck rides smoother than many of the vehicles I've ridden in, thanks to its TTB. And this is with a missing radius arm bushing on the driver side (let's just say you can hear me coming down bumpy roads....lol).
Has it been sitting up for long? When my dad bought my truck (before it became mine, it was the family vehicle), we sprayed down the carb (especially the underside) with carb cleaner (or it might've been B12 Chemtool, though I'm unsure as this was 7 or so years ago) and replaced both PCV valves. I think doing this made it run cooler, in addition to allowing the engine to breathe better. It wasn't a feedback carb though, so I don't know if the feedback types have any kind of electronics or whatnot that'd be damaged by carb cleaner. :\
the guy who owned it drove it from the Yukon up by Alaska, down here to southern Alberta about 6 months ago.he was a logger and used the truck for work.on his way down, just north of where i live the pin holding the distributor gear on broke.i diagnosed the the problem for the guy,but he could not get it started.i went to look at again and it started for me,that was about 4 months ago,so it has not been sitting long.
