hey, welcome to the forums first of all,

secondly, https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...&albumid=39441
this guy is the guy to ask.

Dan had done the same to his 85, didn't have a 300 I6 though, so I don't know how well he can answer that.
but other questions you have he will be able to answer without a problem

Click this link first https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/usercp.php
then click https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/p...?do=editavatar
that link
then you can either put a picture from your computer up, or one from a website.
"Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 100 by 100 pixels or 64.0 KB (whichever is smaller)" keep that in mind when choosing a picture

the 300's sound amazing for only being a 6 cylinder engine.
very good engines, i don't really have any complaints over them

I read somewhere that one person thought a 300 was a Cummins diesel, until he turned around and saw an older Ford climbing a hill. :P

I've only seen a 300 once in person, and I was surprised at how massive those engines are. Takes up the whole engine bay, it seems, lol.

As someone who has a 300 and has removed it and rebuilt it on a stand let me just say yes it is a great motor and a HEAVY beast. Also back to the exhaust question while I am not really a fan of the stacks my 300 dumping right out of the cats sounds pretty mean so through the stacks would probably sound nice too. I would just cut the hole about 1 inch larger around than is needed for the pipe and then make a rubber gasket to go between the pipe and the bed to avoid any irritating vibrating sound. If you do it please get some pics/video.
