Air Filter

The rubber hose that comes from the front of the air filter is hanging down, should it be attached to something ?

I believe it's just a bypass in case the intake gets plugged with snow or something. It's supposed to just stick in a hole in the front sheet metal. Not really "connected" to anything.

Ihave seen them hang there before, although not on that specific model.

Kinds like the gas line going into a furnace, or hot water tank, to keep bigger debri out. Mud Water ect
