Sliding Lock Conversion

Sliding Lock Conversion
Hey Guys, I'm redoing my 80 F100 and I want to change the door panels and locks to the push/pull type instead of the sliders. Do I need anything other than the verticle rod to make the conversion? I notice in LMC they show a different latch for the 2 different types of locks. Thanks for your help.

I don't think you can re-use your existing mechanism. You'll need to swap it over as well.
The older style uses a horizontal rod/actuator and the newer style is a vertical rod/actuator.
I'm pretty sure you can't just change the rod but it's no big deal, there are only 3 phillips screws that hold the mechanism to the door.

Thanks Guys. I went to the salvage yard and got the rods. I couldn't get the phillips screws loose on the latches, so I'll have to go back with the impact.
To change the subject, is there an easy way to post pictures? I'd like to show where I am on my project.
Once it starts going back together, I'm going to be asking for some help.
