Performance Injectors. Just got new tips?
I paid 3,000$ for new performance injectors, Been having trouble with my engine starting and white smoke ect... I took the valve covers off and low & behold I have 3 stock injectors 1 new enjector on each side I was told by Deisel performance Unlimited the company that put them in that all performance injectors are rebuilt stock injectors with a new tip on them.
Dont know that much about injectors so any info would help
THanks

90% of your "performance" injectors are rebuilt stockers. You will get new nozzles and what ever internal mods are needed for the type of injectors you bought. Be it stage 1's, stage 2's or hybrids...
For 3K I would assume you got hybrids. You know you will need single shot tuning for the injectors to run properly right?

EVERY performance injector requires custom tuning. If you got aftermarket split shots, yes they can run on stock tuning, but you'll have issues like what you have now, hard starts, smoke at idle, and even a rougher running engine.
Larger tips cause more fuel to be injected in the same amount of time. So to tune for larger tipped injectors, you need to pull back on the injection pulsewidth. Otherwise, you'll get that white smoke at idle because it's overfueling.
And like the others said, post up the specs on the injectors. Any good shop should have sent specs in the box with the new injectors. If not, call them up and ask for them.
Any shop that refuses to give you the specs would be considered a rip off artist. You need the injector specs for proper tuning. Yes there are some shops out there that refuse to give customers the specs to their injector builds. It's sad, but it happens sometimes.
