Something that could use clearing up

I never really knew the exact definition, but i always knew how to use the term "riff raff" in a sentence. I looked it up on dictionary.com and got this:

Sentence
–noun 1. people, or a group of people, regarded as disreputable or worthless: a pack of riffraff.
2. the lowest classes; rabble: the riffraff of the city.
3. trash; rubbish.

–adjective 4. worthless, disreputable, or trashy.

So, clay, why did you decide to name your company that? Im not taking a stab or trying to be a dick, but what does he offer as far as service and price breaks, it seems like in the past two months or so he's become "the man" around here. Nothing wrong with that at all, he probably deserves it, but what is making everyone jump on the Riff Raff bandwagon? It used to be "go to ITP diesel, or DP tuner, or Diesel Manor, Or this or that, now everyone says you gotta buy it from Riff Raff.

Customer service. Better pricing. A willingness to help out. And hosting 2 decent sized events doesn't hurt either. And RR East will be the event of the year as far as I'm concerned.

When I was looking for gauges he gave me a price. I checked diesel manor and he was between 5 and 40 dollars cheaper per gauge. That's over half a tank of fuel for me.

And I couldn't care less what the name is to be honest. It doesn't change the product, price, or level of service available.

And he's one of us.

Although I guess my little message under my Supporter tag speaks enough for itself.

And not many other vendors would take the time to talk to a customer just because. And I prefer dealing with Clay because although he is a salesman he doesn't try to push a specific product on you. If you ask him to he will give you a recommendation and back it up, but he won't exert a lot of pressure on you to buy a specific product like I've seen other site sponsors do.

He was here as just another member and seen the opportunity to do some business so hats off to him. Plus I don't see the other sponsors so involved in the threads.

Because he was just one of us regular Joe's posting at FTE. When he lost his job, he decided to take a stab at offering quality products at a price most people would like.

Who here wouldn't like to see one of our own succeed and be able to make a living selling maintenance and performance products?

I think of it as a success story, Clay is a powerstroker and loves his truck as much as we do, things happened and he decided to open up his own business with great customer service and a purpose, to enjoy what he does and have fun and put food on the table, a great combination for success. I have't to admit, I try to spread the wealth to ALL our supporters here for mods, its only fair..

I spoke with Clay the other day, he is truly one of us. He not only sells products but he will help you install when he can or sponsor an event to get these things done. Who else does this? Him and PartsguyEd have a great working relationship, looks like a win win situation to me.

Dennis is a great guy, but seems to spend most his time at the Nation. It is really great to see Bill posting here. Folks who hang here buy here from folks who treat them right and respond. It is simple business economics. Folks spend money with vendors they are comfortable with. Feel good or post purchase satisfaction comes from customer service. Communication is key here. Clay does a great job in this area.

Now order some parts from Ed because he is embarking on a boondoggle paid for by his employer.

junk⋅ie  /ˈdʒʌŋki/
Show Spelled Pronunciation [juhng-kee]
Use junkie in a Sentence
–noun Informal. 1. a drug addict, esp. one addicted to heroin.

It appears that one could take alot away from your name as well.

Like Stewart said.. a little discretion please.

Now to answer your question.. Clay is a great guy to deal with. He genuinely cares that your happy and going in the right direction with your truck..all at a fair price.

For service and price I have not found anyone to better him.

And above all. He is a great guy. If he isn't selling truck parts he would still be a great guy to chat with.

ohh.. and about the RiffRaff.. I beleive that comes from his quad racing days or something similar since he has a box trailer w/ "RiffRaff Racing" on the side and a picture of the dirty kid from Peanuts (Pigpen?)

You are probably get some crap from some people on here.. these types of questions are pretty much insulting to Clay and his friends so I would recommend asking in a PM to someone instead of open forums..

Great post Mike. I think that pretty much sums it up.

I was going to post about what we have seen come and go here, but I see you have been on longer than both of us. Kris asked a legitimate question but it seems he is so far ahead of normal folks here in mods that he has lost the bubble. Clay is not going to be the first choice of hard core modders because he has not been doing this as long as others. Everyone starts somewhere.

That's an excellent observation.

I'll be honest, I wasn't offended by Kris asking this question at all.

If anything, it's a great opportunity to sing Clay's praises!!

I have to agree with Dan,I'm not trying to be rude to anyone....but I think the original post was way out of line....just my.02 worth.
On Edit:I dont think its out of line to ask why people on on the "Riff Raff bandwagon",I think it was out of line to put the definition of riff raff and all the dictionary mumbo jumbo,again...just my.02 worth
