rear wheel bearings

Has anyone here tried any of the rear wheel bearings found on ebay for the 02 and up explorer/mountaineer? They offer lifetime warranties and are at a good price. Just wondering if anyone has had any luck with them. Thanks for any replies.

dont remember the brand, but i do remember the add saying something like "same item sold at Advance Auto" or something like that. I have a tendancy to believe most are made in the same overseas factory.

Well, the bearing locally starts at $120 and that does not include the hub. I got a national brand with a lifetime warranty off ebay for $60 shipped with the hub.

This bearing is brand new. I bought two but after installing the left one, that solved the problem. So I am selling this one at a discount. Part # PGRW259 I think. Bought at NAPA. Cost $79 new. I am offering this one for a short time for $40. If it doesn't sell, I will just return it. I am not sure what years and other models it fits. Email me your phone number if you are interested. The noise from a bad bearing will drive you nuts. After reaching 20 mph it sounds like wha-wha-wha until you turn and it goes away slightly. I can install for $150, plus the price of part. So $190 total. The dealer said it was the rear axle and it would cost $800 to change the rear axle. I changed the wheel bearing for $40 @ my cost for the bearing and noise gone. Don't let the dealers get ya. Like I said, I am not out, and I thought I would offer my discount to someone in the same position I was. Otherwise you can pay $80 for one yourself, and then pay a shop $200 to do the labor.

I have already done one side and what I do is pull the knuckle off and take it to a shop and have them press out the old and press in the new. I have already arranged a shop that will to the press work for under $40. Thanks for the offer though!!
