Is it the center shifter? If yes then you got to open the center console take a regular screw driver pop off the top which has the cup holders. From there you will see to clips that hold the chrome trim around the shifter. Take that off and you will see a little light bulb. Just twist it and it comes out. Its the same light bulb as the license plate lights. You will need to take a pair of pliers probably to pull it out. Be careful not to break it and then replace with a new one. Then put it all back together. Its really easy to do. I think I might have pictures somewhere. Mine went out to. Its really easy to fix.
thanks too, now I'm gonna go do mine tomorrow, it's only been out for 2 years. My wife had a hell of a time with it the one night she drove it (she rarely drives it even in the day time so she was not use to the feel of console shift at all). thanks.
No problem. I had the same issue and couldnt find anything in the owners manual for it or any topics on it so I started to tear it apart and found out what I needed.
I did mine today, 5 minutes with assistance from my 6 year old aughter. she likes to wrench. oh, heres a good one, my bulb socket had come loose and fallen out of the console, allowing the bulb to drop down about 6" and rest on some other plastic piece that it proceeded to melt a perfect hole through it. apparently those little buggers get hot. it looks to have been rolling around in there melting up stuff for quite some time before vibration and molten plastic likely caused it to finally blow.
