Front or rears on the fenders?

Not sure if I'll make it yet, but would like to go.

Reminder, Bridgewater auction this weekend

Still not sure I am going to this, mentioned it in passing to the Boss as I left the house this morning. I usually like a little more of the element of surprise, now the idea will marinate in her brain all day today and we will see what happens. I got my mowing all caught up Wednesday night so she probably already suspected something was afoot.

If more than one member goes to this auction make sure you guys coordinate who is going to bid on what for who. One of our fellow members, I won't mention his name let's just call him "WM expert", went to a nearby auction in Northern Illinois a few years back with the intension's of bidding on a certain item for an acquaintance that could not attend the auction. Unbeknownst to "WM expert", the acquaintance also talked to another person unknown to "WM expert" and also asked him to bid on said same item. When the bidding started for this item there were only two bidders who drove the price up, you guessed it, they were the two bidding for the same person

Thanks Bob! Good advice.

But it wasn't just one item. It was three or four. I guess I've been more p.o.'d in my life, but not since. At least it gave me (and you) a good story to tell. Stu

Stu,

I was wondering if you were going to stumble onto this thread. I didn't' want to name name but it was a funny story!

Let's face it, if we didn't have our bad truck experiences we wouldn't have half the BS stories to talk about. It may hurt or be uncomfortable at the time but man, most of them make great, or at least good, stories later on.

Remember: Tragedy + time = humor

Josh, somebody's gonna need them. I've got a couple extras too just in case.

Did anybody actually go to the Kansas auction, and were there any deals to be had? I wimped out and didn't go. My brother even called expecting to see me come, but 7 hours one way just didn't seem worth it. Stu

I went! was it worth it?
NO!!!
try doubling that 7hrs Oh well I got a few things, nothing I really needed thought except the 18 big 20" tires and wheels I dragged home of which I only needed 5 of.... anyone need some 20" lock ring and or good year rims?? I really don't have room to store or keep 13 extra's as spares
I almost got the 48 COE but stopped bidding at 475 for some reason, was also going to get a nice rust, mostly dent free cab for my rusty and dented to hell 52 F6 but it did not happen (still kicking myself) I will be able to sell a couple things to help pay for trip, but I told myself before going that it was just for the hell of it and if I didn't score bigtime then so be it!
I was hoping to find more misc and small parts but there wasn't much in that area, only had one 51 52 F-1 front fender and it got bid up pretty high and one rear F-1 fender (also bid way to high (in my opinion) and they weren't perfect either.

I did bid on the 48 F-3 4X4 but it went a couple hundred more than I had...

Josh

A '48 F-3 4x4? Were you expecting to just float that statement out there without details? Let's hear more.

Got lots of lock rings, heh? Glad you got them instead of letting them go to the crusher. Somebody will want them. I assume you got them right, if you don't figure in gas.

At least you came back with something, unlike me at the one Bob described above.

It's going to someone up in Maine. It's a later frame swap. EDIT: Jmadsen, it went for $2900.

LOL ya, No it was not a MH 4X4 Im not sure what frame he had it on but it was not original, I didn't look real close at the 4wheel drive setup either. he did have flathead v8 in it though.
here it is.

I think it ended at around $2600 2700?
