One piece window question

Do you have to extend the lip inside the door where the window felt goes on a 55 to extend the new felt out where the vent was? Or does the felt support itself? I tried to insert a picture but failed again. There is a pic in my gallery under CAB if you want to look.
Thanks

the felt is mostly self supporting.. I would extend the lip if I do it again, as they really don't hold well enough.. its tight in that front corner..
I had to remove the clips from the back of the felt wipes to get them to align across the top edge of the door. Then used weatherstrip adhesive to hold them in place...ugly messy stuff.

ALSO, the space where the vent frame was needs to be filled BEFORE you paint (don't be stupid like me)..

ah, another thing.. the screws/bolts that hold the upper section of the front track (slant edge).. there is VERY little room when the door is closed, and on mine the small nut rubs on the cab side of the door opening enough to rub off the paint.. ONLY on the drivers side.. so consider adhesive or weld as the final securing mechanism. (spotweld gun would be perfect here.)

and check with the felt installed (around glass), as the cross pieces need to be massaged to get the track to sit properly across the top & back

Thanks Sam. I thought the felt would have trouble supporting itself across there. And I never thought about the vent area problem you mentioned, thanks so much for that.
Is there no end to building one of these things?

haven't found one..!..

now that I am 'finished', I need to polish the exterior, and oops the A/C condenser fittings leak (disassemble the whole front grill area), and the hood needed to be adjusted again, and the tranny doesn't shift right still.

and somehow the right side glass got out of the felt track while at the interior shop, and they closed the window, crushing the track, which then had to be replaced (just done yesterday)..

and I still haven't got the speedo calibrated.. cause the sender is broken/wrong/...whatever
