Turbo Newbee

Still learning basics and need help.
I'm still confused and need enlightenment. Perhaps it will also help other Nubee's like me.
HOW do I know WHEN the turbo should 'open", and if it did. I don't ever hear a "whistle" or maybe dont know what it sounds like.??? Truck runs okay but I may need new donuts will check tomarrow.
Basic stock no guages or mods yet. Suffering PMS till things get better.

on a stock truck you won't hear it that much at all. if you do the foil delete witch is pretty much free you will hear it a little bit better. and also a new 6637 intake will let it out alot more also. I would have to say that your turbo is operating fine even though you can't hear it. one way to tell without gauges is that seat of the pants feel. if you stomp the pedal to the floor at a stand still it will kinda lag a bit then you will hear the engine just come alive. when it starts to go you know you have boost.

Roll the windows down -- you should hear a little something when it spools up.

If not, do the foil delete and slap on the 6637. You'll hear it then!

Thanks appreciate the replies. Seems I can always breath a little easier after asking for help. Guess my truck is okay then.
Joe-Is that a double decker driveway???? I need one of those. It would help prevent door dings.
