I pulled one of my spark plugs today....it's black and covered in soot. I was gonna buy a new set of plugs, but I'm going to try cleaning them up first. Money is a little tight at the moment, and these plugs aren't but a year or so old.
BTW I run -only- premium gas, 93 octane. Naysayers are aplenty, but I KNOW that it does give me more power and better mileage.

josh, i sure aint no master mechanic, but i think you are throwing your money away my friend. now, that 455 olds i used to have wouldnt tolerate anything below 91 octane.
my carb is so out right now that to restart her i have to mash her to the floor and grind and grind before she starts. and, yes higher octane would probably help.
