The southern edge is now threatening Mount Wilson. That's going to create some big problems if it burns up all of those transmitters.
Channel 7 commented on that this morning. They said that if Mt Wilson transmitters go down, those who have satellite or cable will continue to get their broadcast. Only over-the-air antennae people would lose reception. They will also still be up on webcast. Apparently all that stuff goes out digitally.

Very sad. Looks like it was a traffic accident, and not directly fire related. Except for the urgency affecting their speed.
Coming in to work this morning, businesses up the street had their employees standing outside, and then I arrived at my office too see all our employees standing out in the parking lot. Power outtage. I shut down all the servers and lasers, thinking it was fire related and would be a long haul. Apparently it was only local, and lasted about 30 minutes. These are not events you wish to see the day before a vacation.
For all that smoke, we really haven't had much problem here southeast of the fire. No ash on the cars, and little if any smoke smell. There hasn't been much wind, and what breeze there is must be away from here. This could change any minute.
