FPR Shim?

I have a 97 California truck... and according to this, http://www.superdutydiesel.com/wiki/...hp?articleId=2

California trucks already have the FPR shimmed... Would i still benefit from a beebee?

What is your fuel pressure reading now? I don't know about Cali trucks, but my 49-state Idaho truck is supposed to read 40 - 80 PSI at idle.

Mine was reading low. I added the BB to get it back up to around 70 - 75 PSI. She's been running smoother ever since.

Have not tested it yet... might try and test it tommorow, but I know that some people are thinking my rev issue (wont rev much past 3300-3400 rpm) is either Fuel Pressure related, or HPOP related... And if its fuel Pressure related, i would think that I would be just doing a shim to fix it.

Check it with a cheap tire gauge... if it's below 50 psi put a BB in. Then check it again and if it's between 50 and 80 you should be good. Mine went from 40 psi before, to 65 psi after the shim. Runs a lot better now.

Well it the gauge (cheapo from walmart) went to about 35 PSI instantly and then started to creep up towards 45 or so after holding it there for about 5-10 seconds.... so I am going to put a bb in and see what happens.

It is different depending on the truck. Just check after you put a bb in and if it's between 60 and 80 you're good!

Maybe the pressure gauge got ruined... hmm. The bb goes in right before the spring when you're putting it back together.

Matt you should really try getting a real gauge from what I understand is the cali models already have higher pressures due to the split shot injectors.

just wondering have you cleaned the fpr screen? and have your injector o rings ever been changed ?

I also built a gauge at work today. Will see how that works tomorrow...
