My 1999 F350 was hard starting for a while, then would'nt start at all. I consulted this forum, looked, listened and learned from you. From CPS to fuel bowl heater to everything else in between. I followed your instructions. Then finally when nothing else worked I pulled both VCs and found the right wire connectors inside the valve cover was completely disconnected. I plugged it back in with the quarter retainer installed and she fired right up. Soooo thanks to everyone for the excellent education. My truck has 302000 miles and runs like new.
Sitting in the background, just reading, and you went through it all silently until you found it!!??!!
YOU'RE the kind of guy we need more of around here!
I'm just flabbergasted that you never let loose so much as a peep for the entire time you were trying to fix your rig.
Next time, don't be so shy. Tell us something about yourself and your '99. You have a lot of miles on it. How do you use it?
C'mon in and chat a spell. We're all pretty friendly here. We all believe we really have the best combination of chassis and power going in today's pickup truck, as I'm sure you do, too.
One thing about this forum, there's virtually nothing you'll ever see with your rig that hasn't already been seen and solved by someone. Let's get 'er done easier and faster next time, OK?
Thanks again guys, I use my 99 for towing tree debris with a 18' dump trailer. Did'nt need to ask any questions. They were already answered by you guys in prior posts. I've never been into a 7.3 before, my truck has, after 5 years of ownership, never given me any trouble. Now she pulls like crazy, and once again a pleasure to drive.
Maybe he is tryning to avoid a bad case of PMS. Since I found this site I have gone nuts with it . Well done m8. It gives me great satisfaction when I fix a problem without going to a shop. I hope you did too.
Great to hear from you, Kerry. Congrats on having the umption to take this on completely on your own without discussion... says a lot about two things I guess...
1) how well you can sort through and synthesize the abundant information in here, and
2) that even with all the fun we have poking one another and sometimes talking a little BS, there's tons of excellenty helpful real-world experience and knowledge among our little family here.
