is there any pictures of this anywhere? im not familiar with the 'doghouse filter'... if i didnt that this weekend and tore it apart and cleaned everything and re-rerouted the ccv about how long of a job is it if everything goes right?
sounds like a winner to me, thanks for the visual buddy i believe im going to try and tear it all out this weekend and do a good cleanin. i appreciate it guys, i'll let ya know how it goes.
welp i wound up having enough time to degrease the engine good and changing out the aih, easy job. as far as the ccv mod i got cought up but hopefully will be doing some time in the near future, along with installing my gauges i should be able to pick up this week (buddy depending).
Even though its not for this topic, the fuel canister IS supposed to leak out by itself after you pop the top isnt it? I was changing out my fuel filter and it did for me the first time but then i was going to clean it out and fill it up and let it drain again and it wouldnt drain so i put the filter and cap back on cranked it up, put pressure in it and without opening the cap opened the drain valve and it shot out like a water cannon. its supposed to freely come out though right?
If I understand the way it works and I could be wrong....... The fuel canister is PRESURISED by the fuel pump, when it is not running the pressure will eventually disipate back / return to the tank. but you can always have pressure when you turn ON the key.

Someone corect me if I'm wrong please.
yessir it fills up without actually crankin up the truck by simply turning the key on but i started getting in an angry mood and didnt feel like doin it again.
You rekkin that valve was just stopped up to not let it free flow or are you SUPPOSED to pressure it up? i dont know, either way i got it though.
LOL... Yep -- I've been on here almost every day since Feb 2007.
The CCV can be done by simply taking off the intake tubes, replacing the CCV coupler with a piece of 4" OD exhaust pipe, reversing the "dog house" (filter) 180 deg, then run a piece of 3/4" heater hose with a 3/4" coupler off the elbow on the dog house over the brake booster and back as far as you want it to be. I ran mine all the way to the rear axle. Be prepared to replace the O-rings under the dog house. They're probably pretty deformed. They're 1-1/2" OD, 1-1/4" ID 1/8th inch thick O-rings. I found some at my local auto parts store.
Clay @ Riff-Raff sells a kit for fairly cheap I believe, too. Shoot him a PM.
And no, the I/C tube doesn't get THAT hot. The exhaust manifolds are waaaay hotter.
from a post i read the foil delete just helps clean up the engine bay...look around here on this forum a member painted his IC pipes and it looked pretty sharp!!!
