I recently was the recipient of some 5.0 HO parts for free (heads, upper and lower intake, fuel rails, injectors, distributor and shorty headers) Now for the problem: The distributor from the mustang has a different plug-in on it than my stock one. What can I do to make it work? The plug has 6 plugs inside it and is long and skinny and the one on my truck is small and circular. Any suggestions?
What year is your truck?
Got any pics of these parts?
FYI.. The HO uses the same heads and injectors as the truck 5.0. The distributor is also identical except for possibly the drive gear and the presence or absence of a TFI module on the side of it, so there's no point trying to adapt it to your truck. Connections on the fuel rail are also in different locations and are probably not compatable with your fuel lines. Now the upper and lower intake is a good upgrade over the truck intake IMO, you will need to make some changes to the TPS and EGR wiring(probably just remove the tape and pull the wires out of th eloom a little), and of course you need a single tube intake and filter box.. something you could source from a scrapyard car or Explorer for example.
