Rear work light location???

On my 05 250 I got some new worklights, LED, from Grote. These are the new Trilliant lights, cost $310 each and hope they're worth it. Problem I have is that I want to mount these on the back of the truck for back up light but with my duals coming out on both sides of my hitch I can't mount them there. There's no lip on the bottom of the bumper, any other mounting ideas?

Remove the mounting bolt in the middle and attach the loop to the box tube on the hitch with a couple of large zip ties. Run a separate ground wire to the lamp head and you 'll be set.

Don't think that's a bit too low? I could zip a couple self tappers up in there too, don't tow much weight when I do tow, which I haven't in like 5 years.

Holy guacamole, that's some expensive backup lights!!!

I would not mount lights any lower than my trailer hitch. Doing so would be just asking to get them broken or torn off, even if you don't go off road. At $300 per, that would wreck my day. That leaves the area just outside the hitch, just below the level of the bumper. I would probably try to mount them off the hitch gusset.

If you search for the "stealth backup" thread, you will see a lot of examples of how guys have mounted BU lights.

Good point, don't hang them under the box tube, move the mounting bracket to the back of the lamp head and then affix it to the side of the box tube. That way it gets some protection from the bumper and won't get as much junk off the tires.

Good ideas. Although I didn't pay for them I wouldn't want to chance breaking them.

I would def recomend a HEADACHERACK(BACK RACK)
they have many lighting tabs for mounting different types of lights
