newbie needs axle help
I was hoping one of yall could tell me what years of axle shafts will fit in my 63. It has an axle code of 12 (3.89) witch i believe is a 9".
all the info i've found is on 64's and later. if anyone could point me in the right direction that would help very much.

Hello KC, Welcome to FTE! here is a link that might shed some light on what read end you have, good way to tell is, if it has a rear cover it's not a 9 inch

That's the one, the rear in the diagram (link:https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/85...-rear-end.html) is the same as on my truck.
does that mean any axle shaft from 57-72 will work?

I am not sure if there is any difference from side to side as far as the axle, there is some difference's between 9 inch rear's.... smaller outer bearing's verses big bearing's spline count, 28 verses 31, not sure about the inner parts, maybe someone that know's more about them will chime in.
