What's the difference??
I am looking for a camper shell or bed cover for my 08 F250 SD shortbed. Does anyone know the difference in the beds between the 07 and 08??

The '08 has SUPER DUTY on the tailgate.

And don't forget newer paint.. But are they the same width and length? Shape?

I believe the tailgate has a different contour at the top, where it must mate with the cap door. For that reason, I don't think an earlier cap fits properly on an '08-09. The rest of the bed is okay.

maybe if you find an earlier cap a later rear window could be mated to it for less than the price of a new cap

I know we have a few guys in our forum (7.3) that has switched the tailgate of the '08 to the early truck. I havn't heard anything about the top of the tailgate.

I don't remember my '06 having this pregnant look at the top. That's what I'm thinking, but it might be only the optional step version that has that.

yea the 08up tailgate is fatter at teh top edge...and the protector on the top is considerably flatter/wider aswell...

thats why the toppers would list different...

Is the 08'up tailgate (without step) actually contoured different at the top than the previous gates. Possibly 99'-07' molding would fit on an 08up gate?
