Air intrusion is air going into the fuel system, which lets the fuel return to the fuel tank.
When you say cranks but will not turn over, do you mean the engine cranks/turns over but will not fire?
In my book cranking and turning over are the same thing.
If you have been cranking the engine fro close to 20 seconds without a cool down period of at least 2 minutes before cranking again, I would say the starter puffed magic white smoke.
Once it puffs magic white smoke, a new starter is the only repair.
The magic part is how much money dissappears from your wallet.
how does it make sense that its the starter?? if it is actually turning over but not firing...
if it was the starter wouldnt it just not turn over at all??
if it is dead battery, charge and spray (cant believe i am saying this) starting fluid, just a little squirt in the intake to get it to fire over, if it starts and stays running, you have a gp problem, if it dies again it is fuel and yeah have it towed home.
if that is the case bro, you have a fuel problem. crack the lines and see when cranking if fuel is spurting out, check around the fuel filter and see about that seal, a lot of guys have problems with that spot.
Also didnt you say that the GP's and the lines were replaced? did the lines get seated good? air and fuel are different things, air can leak with no fuel leaks. Sounds like you have a small hole that has gotten bigger and now it is telling you who is boss. What GP's did you use to replace?
today i finally got a hold of some starter fluid and tried it but,,, by that time the battery was drained pretty low so when i sprayed and cranked it didnt start...
so im pretty sure it was cuz the battery was gettin low...
but... just to be sure. if starting fluid doesnt even start it what would be next in line to check?
IT WONT EVEN KICK OVER WITH STARTING FLUID? WHAT THE @#$%? Well now do you mean it wont start and stay running or it wont kick over and then die? If it wont kick over with SF you have a first in any book i believe. If it dies after kicking over, then it could be IP, air or clogged up fuel filter. I would go filter, test IP, then go inch by inch on the lines in that order of least hassle.
It has to start with that.
If the battery is good and it still will not start with fluid, the engine has a real problem.
have you ever checked compression on it?
