I've got a 05 6.0 4x4 supercab, approx 148,988 km. Keeps stalling while driving, doesn't seem to matter the speed or rpm, it just quits, I put in neutral(while still rolling along) and start it and continue to drive, have had it into Ford (3rd time this morning)first time they thought a bad egr, replaced, second time a loose(slightly) battery cable. I thought it was fixed because I drove for almost two weeks, then it started stalling again, twice in a block, any ideas?? One thing I seem to notice is that it (at least as far as I remember) never seems to stall if the engine is cold( that is it always seems to be after driven for a while) never stumbles, hesitates, coughs, just a nice quick quiet stall.
"They" found the problem, or so they say, it was a fuel pressure sensor, last time it was a loose battery cable, and the first time it was a sticky egr valve, hope its really fixed this time, it stalled on the weekend(one of several times) while i was returning from a fishing trip, had to stall on a corner, very steep grade, traffic coming my way, on a washboard gravel road, but other than that, it was no problem.
ive been having the same problem for the last few weeks,, the ford dealership i talked to this last weekend told me it may be a cam shaft sensor,, i guess it may be, and itching to get it fixed,, at 158000 kms and running out of warranty soon,,,lol
They didn't fix it!! Back to Ford this morning, I asked them what about the warrenty running out, what if they don't fix it again and it stalls after the next 1000 km is over?
They said they would cover it, we'll see. They had better seeing this is the forth time its been in for the same issue, I marked down the mileage last time, before it went in, they drove 1Km, according to the mileage when i picked it up. not sure if that would be enough to really test it or they still are guessing.
How can it be a FP sensor? the 05 did not have one.
So what is a "ICP Sensor?"Ford told me it was a fuel pressure sensor and thats what they supposedly replaced, They also said(and I have these both noted in the paperwork) that they got a code P2287, which is funny because last 2 times in they said no codes came up.
I just started having the exact same problem. No warning, just quits, I put it in neutral and it starts right back up. Did the ICP sensor fix it, or what was the fix?

Sounds like the STC or Snap To Connect fitting on the HPOP.
When the engine oil is cold, it's thicker allowing the engine to build the necessary oil pressure to start and run the engine. As the engine gets hotter, the oil gets thinner and less able to maintain the pressure required for the engine to run. Sometimes, the engine may start with a rough idle and other times it stalls outright and will not restart until it's cold.
Have them check the HPOP (high pressure oil pump) and make sure you have the updated bracket to keep the STC fitting from seperating from the pump.

I have a 6.0 F350 and have encountered this problem twice. If the vehicle has to be warm before it shuts off and then will not start, check the oil's viscosity.
This most recent reaccurance happens with or without the engine being warm. No hesitation, just shuts off. I started with the ipc which did make a difference in how the truck operated. Was not the cause. Changed the cam and crank sensor, no difference. It turned out to be the oil pressure sender was starting to malfunction. It was getting worse quickly, only happened at first when truck was running for awhile. Soon though it could be cold or warm, and would just cut out.
I hope this info helps someone.
And something other than the Oil Pressure Switch was the fix, because that doesn't do squat other than put a fake oil pressure reading on the dash gauge...
