So Hi everyone, I haven't been on here in quite a while.... Okay, a LONG time. Question: Dashbossblue no longer worky! I'm actually not sure it ever worked exactly as advertised, which is probably why "Dashboss" appears to have gone out of business. What should I replace it with? Opinions?
Thanks a million!
Thank you, I'll look into Forscan then. Anyone else want to chime in? Anything else I should be looking at. Sorry, I just haven't looked into these monitors in quite a while. Yeah, I really liked Dashboss when it was working, WHEN it was working! Unfortunately, I had both versions, and both had connection problems. At this point I suppose it's just as well that it's gone, I'm a pretty patient man, but I'm sick of messing with them. The few times when I just got in and it connected were great, the rest of the time.... ?

If you are willing to get a Droid device, Torque Pro works quite well, and the developer is very responsive... But for inexpensive and comprehensive cross-platform, it is Forscan....

Thanks, but I just bought 2 new iPhones. Well, what do you mean by "comprehensive cross-platform"... Sorry, out of touch with the latest I guess. Is Forscan able to monitor most parameters?

Yes. Make sure you have a GOOD adapter for your device (quite critical, as that could have been your problem even with the very robust DashBoss) - usually I-phones like to talk WiFi rather than Bluetooth. and then get Forscan...
I have used Forscan only on recent Ford models to program changes that only ford IDS can do otherwise, but hardwired off of a Win laptop. For my '07 it is an older Droid phone and Torque Pro...
I troubleshoot with ForScan Lite on my i-phone. I also have the full version of ForScan on my Windows laptop, but have only used it a few times.
As far as continuous monitoring, I still like my DashDAQ.
Wow, hey Mark, It's been a while!!! Still running a 6.0? So..... Since I am looking for a "continuous monitoring" device, DashDAQ would probably be the best choice?
My limited experience with Torque Pro is u have to manually add some PIDs, where ForScan has all the PIDs. I think TP has alarms, which is good, but ForScan is easier (IMHO). ForScan is also a great troubleshootin tool. Mark and others have been great at posting the Torque Pro formulas to add the custom PIDs if u go that route. You will have to get an individual FP/EGT gauge and hook it up since neither will monitor that. I got an Edge monitor years ago, but with tablets and Forscan/TorquePro available now I agree with Mark. A tablet and individual FP/EGT gauge may be a better and cheaper way to go.
Crap compared to the CTS2 wish I could get mine back. No back up camera compatibility, can't clear trouble codes with the engine running like the 2 and maintence manager is gone.
Yep. Got a new windshield for the truck and the guy broke my CTS 2, but gave me the money to replace it. Called Edge to get a replacement and they said the 3 is what they had. They asked if I was using a backup camera and I said yeah just a $20 one from Amazon that’s worked great for 8 years. “Oh well those old AV cameras aren’t compatible and you’ll need an adapter” turns out the adapter is $120 because it’s usb only connection, or I can buy their camera for $250. Might as well get a $150 amazin special double din with AV input.
not to mention it crashes and all the PIDs weren’t even there
