Hey guys so i was playing with my truck this morning trying to figure out why it is running so ruff and has no power. I found a leak on the driver side up pipe. One of the nuts had fallen off so i fixed that problem they appear to just be a compression conection with a built in dougnut so i but a new nut and tighened the **** out of it.
I then moved to the top of the motor and started pulling the uvc plugs off 1 at a time while it was running. Sure enough the back plug on the passenger side came off and no change. So my question is what does that mean and where to go from here none of the wires look burnt but each plug did have oil in them when they came off. I was thinking bad injectors but now i don't know.:-x09
thanks for all your help in advance.
Could be a bad connection under the valve cover... I'd test the wires outside the valve cover first though. I redid the entire pass. side UVC wiring not long ago cuz it burned out. Also had to replace one of the exterior plugs cause it was burned out.
I found out this weekend that the time it took me to rounded up my voltmeter and found out it was dead, I had the valve cover nearly off. The pass. side connections in and out were fine but the driver's front was melted to a crisp on the inside. New gasket and harness and it's good to go. This was on the 96.
I'd say just pull the v/c and take a look. Chances are you're going to have to pull it anyway!!
