I just finished replacing all my glowplugs after 4 of 8 tested bad. On the driver's side I found one bad UVC harness. The passenger side harnesses and connectors look good and all the new GPs on that side ohm out correctly from the external uvch pins.
Is there any reason to replace the other 3 UVC harnesses if it appears nothing is wrong with them? It's my understanding that it's the resistance of bad/old glow plugs that burns them up, so is it correct to assume that with new glow plugs I won't see this problem again soon?
I bought enough parts to replace all 4 harnesses but I hate to replace something that doesn't look broken. However, I really don't want to hassle with taking the covers off again any time soon. Anyone have any advice?

I think you answered your own question. The harness's are 12 years old, if one went
bad the others cant be far behind. Save them for any quick fixes you need
in the future. My 2¢
X2 on what said. To check glow plugs I use jumper cables, ground to threads, positive to top connector. If they glow red, they are good. I've done it that way for 30 years now.

can an old bird learn new tricks? a test light or ohm meter are much easier to test with. you don't even need to remove them from the truck.

tweet, tweet, is that a head (my head) in the sand comment? OK, OK, I'm stuck in my ways. That's a good one Tim, you hit the nail on the head. I'll have to join the 20th century sooner or later. Should be sooner, huh lol??
Yeah, but TJ ya gotta remember that when oldbird tests his GP's the old way he also roasts marshmallows from the inside out. Kinda like two (2) birds with one (1) stone.

Rog, You say you want to hit my 65 Falcon Convertible and ME with one stone?! That would be hard to do because I sold the Falcon. Anyway, wouldn't the glow plugs get stickey and seize up the motor? Good thought though, I'll have to try that! lol
