Secondly...your decode what you have done through the various ways/forums is not too far off...
F10 = F series 2WD 1/2 ton pickup
J = 240 6 cylinder engine
D = Dallas assembly
624967=early Dec 1964(a 1965 model) given the Dec. run started at 624,000 it was prolly built on the 1st or 2nd day or close therabout...
115" = wheelbase in inches...shortbed truck
G = Chrome Yellow exterior color
F100 = F100 2WD 1/2 ton pickup
481 = 4 is interior code..Lt Beige Crush Vinyl & Lt Beige Wicker pattern vinyl
81 simply denotes a conventional cab truck..since theres no letter after it it is a base model truck. On some trucks theres an A after the 81 which would indicate a base model truck or a B which would be a Custom Cab trimmed truck.
A = Ford 3.03 Syncromesh 3 speed trans..column shift
09 = rear axle gear ratio...3.70...this is an open rear axle...locking rear ends have a letter as the first character of its code
5000 GVW...max load truck can take loaded with cargo and occupants
122HP... engines cert. net hp
4000 RPM at which the above figure was taken at
61 = DSO...Dallas sales office...where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from

This looks to be a knowledgeable website so I'll definitely be around for a while!
F100 decodes to F100 2WD / 5,000 lbs, GWVR.
Where does it say anywhere in the catalog that it's a pickup?
It doesn't. So, as original (not today) when it rolled off the assembly line, it also could have been a Cab & Chassis, Flat Bed, Stake Bed, Chassis & Cowl, Chassis & Windshield.
I hate to be an azz, but there's a correct way of doing things.
If the truck has a stake bed, flat bed, or no bed on it at all today, telling someone it was a pickup originally is confusing.
You'll find Bill aka Number Dummy has all the numbers for parts. You won't find a more knowledgeable member for what parts fit what.
You'll find a lot of us that know how to do upgrades like power disc brakes and power steering,engine and transmission swaps that you can't find anywhere else.
Again, Welcome!
