I have a 76 f-100 2wd with a 302 automatic. I would like to know what transmission I have, the trans code states "G". I have tried vin decoders and all they state is "automatic." Any information would be appriciated.

Nothing, and I mean nothing, stirs the soul, saying I'm a bad **** like lettin'em rip with a window shaking, fuel gulpin, carbon monoxide belchin, attention gettin, V-oh my LORD!-8!
John Go to the tech articles and find the vin decoder. Put your vin in and it should tell you what you have. Most 302s that I am aware of have C4s, but yours could be different.

I'm at college now and don't have my vehicles with me due to the cost of parking. I'll be going home for christmas break next week, I'll check it out then. By the way could you define small and large? I vaigly remember the size and shape of the pan but am unsure if it is considered large or small.
I think that the large is a little bit bigger than the small...

Hey Nathan, the smallblock C6 combo was also used in the vans too. Speaking of rare, in ’68 some full size Fords had the 390 backed by a C4! Sorry John for tracking in more mud.
Barry that is the first time that I have ever heard that a C4 was mated to a FE. Can you document that, I would love to see it, not to discredit you though.
Nathan you are correct, the 351W is that engine, but my question was a C6 factory linked to a 302?
