Vacuum problems

Not sure this is the right spot for this but since I have a diesel and it has a vacuum pump so I put it here.

My 2003 F250 with the 6.0 only blows air out the top defrosters no matter what I have it set on. Some air comes out the side window defrosters.

I checked the vacuum pump and it works. I had a problem with having to turn the lockouts in to get the 4x4 to work and it ended up being a vacuum line on the right side of the engine that came apart. That as well as injector number 8 had to be changed. This all happened about the time my air only blowing out the defrosters happened.

Just wondering if anyone had any ideas what this could be?

Thanks

If you got all the vacuum leaks fixed, you should also see your air conditioner (climate control) operation return to normal. It should have no impact on the injectors. You might want to make sure the vacuum line to the heater hose valve is connected. It tends to fall off and cause vacuum problems.

This problem started once they worked on my truck and found the vacuumn leak for the 4x4. The injector was not related I just mentioned it so everyone knew the approximate area they were working in case someone would have knocked a hose off.

If the heater hose valve in the vacuumn line next to where heater hoses go in to the firewall or heater box, that one is on.

I don't know having the work done is related to this problem it could be a coincidence.

Thanks

Again

Take it back to the dealer and tell them the problem and that it has been since they worked on it. If they find the problem around the work area u r good to go. If it isn't around the work area they will fix it and bill you. Either way problem solved.

Go to Autozone or other parts store and get a pack of vaccume caps. Comming out of the Vac can there are two hoses. One goes to the HVAC, and the other conects to the 4x4 system, cap the 4x4 system and see if that fixes your problem.

If it only blows the defrost for a couple of minutes when shifting into or out of 4wd, then you have a vacuum leak in your ESOF system. If it blows defrost all the time you have a vacuum leak upstream of the ESOF soleid valve (which is located under the hood near the wall above the passenger's side front wheel. Your ventilation system runs off of vacuum to align the air to the position you want. 0" vacuum (atmospheric pressure) is the setting for defrost.
