Wow, and to think they could have found that problem if they had just looked it over more carefully in the beginning. Something had to cause the excessive heat and dropping of the valve. That should have had them crawling all over that motor.
I don't understand why they don't use a monitoring system like the aftermarket OBD II things so that us drivers can monitor stuff for real. Are they trying to hide the EGT numbers? The second my EGT's go above 1300 I will know that something is not right and I won't have to blow it up to find out. Crazy stuff.
Come back to a new short block so i asked what caused 2,000 EGT's and they said well ummmmm we don't know so that kinda ticked me off they have no idea.
I don't buy it. I believe there are 3 pyrometers in the exhaust system that are supposed to sense a high EGT condition. The PCM will force a shutdown long before they get to 2,000 degrees.

There's no way it could have happened!
Give me a little time and I will show you the logs I got off the Spartan
Interesting, you logged them yourself. I never meant to imply I didn't trust you, just that I figured you were told this by some schmuck a the dealer who didn't know what he was talking about.
Which tune were you running? I know lots of their "race" tunes disable some of the safeguards that are in place to make sure everything doesn't blow up...

It was on stock tuning I was just watching the gauges with it. How do I show an Excel sheet?

Nick, I only know how to do it on a PC and I know you are a Mac user. But on a PC you would open the Excel spreadsheet. Hold down the Ctrl key and then press print screen. Once you do that, open Paint and right click on the paint screen and select Paste. Save the file as a JPEG. Upload said JPEG to photobucket or your photo-sharing site of choice. Once uploaded, post the Excel sheet like any other picture.
But on a Mac, who knows? Maybe sacrifice a PC to Steve Jobs.
I've never done it but I would bet on an up to date Mac you could just drag and drop the Excel file into iPhoto and be done with it.
I just checked it out. You can "save as" in the File menu and choose html format and then should be able to upload it, either that or try to save as a PDF and upload. Must be an easy way, it's what Mac is all about and usually thinking simple is the way to go.

Reason: got it
Happy to hear you've got it up and running - I'm amazed it's taken them this long to get it all worked out. Thanks for all the great pics and info throughout the ordeal.
