How hard is it to remove the 4x4 decals and any chance of damaging the paint? I ask since I removed the actual emblems from the tailgate of my Silverado and when I did a portion of the paint came off. Not happy at that point. I have removed the dealers decal with just using a hair dryer and I'm guessing the same would be true for the 4x4 decal but not sure. Any first hand experiences out there?
yes, a hair dryer will work, or a heat gun on low setting. or others have peeled them right off after the truck was sitting in the hot sun for a few hours. I used the heat gun method the day after I bought my truck.
HA, I did it the day I got my truck home and they just peeled off but I live in the desert and the truck is black. It is very easy. Put her out in the sun and peel away.
3M also makes a decal and graphic remover that works really well. You can buy it in an aerosol can at most auto body supply or auto parts stores. Same things body shops use. You can use a plastic spreader (like you would use to put plastic body filler on something) to scrape it off without damage to your paint.
go for the 3m wheel they do cost 30 to 40 bucks. hook it up in a drill and it will just take it off nice and easy work great to for pin stripes and double face tape too
