Tracked down the reason possibly why it stalled on me before it broke... cranked until i got oil pressure, realized the pcm wasnt plugged in, etc.. finally got all the stupid crap out of the way, and it still wouldnt fire. So i dicked around with the ipr wiring (remember i have dual, so i have a modified harness), and one of the wires was cut, something. And it wasnt completing the IPR circuit. So i had to reconnect them, it fired up very smooth and quick, it's alot quieter now, i think it's the valvetrain issue now it's fine.... Got it up to 165* oil temperature, which BTW makes everything else 100* hotter around it without water in it, pulled injectors which was a pain hot. retorqued the studs, boy did they need it, i got 1/8-1/4 turn on most of them. Reassembled all the engine stuff, no leaks to speak of. Now i gotta finish installing the radiators, and the front end, and "just add water" lol

Though a LOT of extra work, aren't you glad you did this?

Even an eighth turn is a LOT of difference, much less a quarter!

That thing looks sooo much like an elephant motor in that color scheme.

Old memories.... :-)))

Got the front end all together, back on, just need to add water to it. Started going back to working on installing the gears in the rear axle which has been a total clusterfack, but i broke another pinion bearing, so i'll have to wait around with my thumb up my butt till i get that.

Sooo close, and hurry up, and wait.

Ahhh, the elephant. I tried so hard to get one of those real hemis but ended up with a 440 SixPak. That wasn't too bad either. I thrashed that thing for all it was worth, Thank God for a Dana rear in a car. It never complained. That rear end was as big as what I have in my truck now, a monster. I think it was actually stronger.

Kris, looking forward to your results real soon. Saw you have some front hubs in your webshots. Did you trash your hubs too? I am thinking these are junk because I have wrecked the seals in mine.

I suspect Dana 60's and our Corporate Sterling's are about on par, strength-wise.

The Dana was a very wise choice for the guys at Chrysler to have made. It held up to the abuse of Hemi's (REAL Hemi's) with 4-speeds.

Very likely, Kris' motor will put out about as much torque, maybe more!

What kind of numbers are you shooting for, kid?

I would really like 700hp on fuel, hoping 1250-1350 torque, but without water injection (some serious water injection at that) i dont know how much i will push it. Dave said i have enough fuel for 900+hp if i could clean it all up but i'm not going there as of yet lol

Oh yeah, THAT's at least a "scosh" more than a hemi. By a good margin, even!

Nice numbers!

But we'll see.. i probably won't be at that until i get some dialed in tyoonage, and then at that i need to buy a water system, do an air-water IC and all that good stuff. So, in the meantime, break it in a few "scoshes" down on the chip and then give it hell once i get all the little break in wrinkles ironed out. By the way got the rear axle all assembled, truck is on the ground, only need to adjust traction bars, fill the front diff, and the radiator, and then it will be road-ready
