Need some C4 for my C4
I inherited a '77 F100, 300 I6, 87K, and I think a C4 transmission. The factory so thoughtfully declined to fill in the door frame ID box for the equipment codes (must have been a Monday). As soon as I got it, I set to work plugging tranny leaks. After those were fixed, the tranny died (No forward gears, but a great reverse). I'm in denial, someone tell me there's a quick fix besides rebuilding. I've changed the filter (it was needed desperately). I also have a bad feeling that other than Type FA fluid was used. I can get it rebuilt for about $125 but it's the holidays so it won't be quick and for some reason, I'm not looking forward to dropping a tranny in Dec.
