Talking oil amt

I have a 1990 F-150,extended cab,4x4, auto trans, with the5.0 engine. It takes 6.5 qts of oil to get it to the full mark on the dipstick. The other 2 F-150's I had only took 5.5 qts. Am I over-feeding it. Looks like stock oil pan. Run's ok, with 5.5 qts, and has same oil pressure. Thank You.
