Tips for selling?

Ok. So what a mess. My F-600 was too large to get back home, I can have it shipped to me for a decent price but I am also getting close to moving, and would then have to ship it again.

I had planned on making it a 4x4, swapping the chassis, but I don't think I will have enough time to get it up and running after the swap without adding some serious, serious stress. It's too large to drive as is.

Unfortunately I live in the middle of no where. The middle. As in you first have to reach no where, then keep driving. No real luck on craiglist, some tire kicking but no real offers. Which is extremely frustrating. I waited about 6 months to get this truck, after searching for a year to find a '56, and now I can't seem to get rid of it. I think I would rather sell and buy or just trade for a F-100 or F-250. Problem is I want a '56... course I've become open to the '52 and earlier lately. Also been looking for a '53 Chevy (its not for me), but I tend to get people wanting to trade a cab without any doors and nothing else for my complete drivable rust free truck. I know the right buyer will come at the right time, but its very frustrating to say the least.

Figure I'll try eBay soon, haven't used it in like 3 years though. Just be so nice if it wasn't such a complete fiasco. Any tips on selling it?

Yeah eBay is pretty spendy, like $200 to sell it after it all. It's one thing if I'm making 50,000 on it. I'm still hoping for a trade of sorts, lol, yeah I know, good luck with that.

It's alright, it will work out very well for me I'm sure, lol about time.

OK, I dont want to sound like I'm an A$$ or anything but hear me out.

You have one clean 56 f600. From my experience you have to look long and hard to find a cab, doors and hood in that nice of cond.

I know its big, and I know you want a 4x4,

Dont listen to these guys on here who say "dont cut it up its a piece of history" or "there aint many left like that one"

I cut up trucks left and right, where do you think all the "good" parts come from? Trucks like yours!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I say go back with a trailer, cut the frame behind the cab, and bring it home, tear it apart and keep what you want! Or go up and remove the doors, Hood, grille ETC. Its your truck, them doors are most definetly keepers!

Later make it into what you want and you'll have nice clean parts. You bought it at a good price right? That truck is worth 3 times more apart than together.

Don't cut it up......find a way to get it home.....but these guys that ''scrapout'' good trucks are not what this site is about.......do what you need to....but cutting up a perfectly nice truck is not what we are all about. Preservation and in the future you will find the right answer.
I have TONS of 56 parts....and I never scrap out a good truck, just for the heck of it.
You will find a buyer or a transporter and it will work out.
I have hauled more parts than most and once it is apart.....it is work to put it back together.
I heard bigwin was scrapping out his 56f600......or was that untrue? LOL

My biggest problem is time and money. I'm going to be moving in a couple of months and it's ridiculous the amount it's going to cost me to move that truck twice. It be easier if it was framed swapped, but in order to do it right I need more time and money. I guess we'll see where I end up, I might just move it once to there, or sell it and buy a 250/350 on the other end. Heaven knows I'd love a big window

Why move it twice?

If they don't mind you leaving it there a little longer, (I think I remember you saying it can stay where it's at for a little while,) wait until you move then ship the truck once and be done with it. You already own the truck you have been looking for. It will make a great 4wd unit.

Just ship it once to your new home. Or is that not an option?

It might be an option, sort of have to wait and see. I might be able to make enough on it that after the cost of trying to ship it I'd be better off just buying a new one. We'll see.

As big as that beast is, and with the right lift kit, just think of the humongous tires you can fit under the fenders!!!

And if you leave it as a flat bed you can fashion some wrought iron side rails and head ache rack to showcase your blacksmith talents.

The possibilities are endless!!

I had planned on shortening the frame and putting a long bed on it (well actually might as well just swap the frame as I'll need to do the powertrain and the axles to go 4x4, and the 600s seem beefy). Heck you wouldn't even need a lift kit, those tires are 3 feet tall and have pleanty of room! If anything I'd lower it, lol.

Though I did just find my ideal truck, a '56 long bed thats a big back window in great shape for $1500... too bad I'm short. Maybe I'll luck out and he'll trade, lol.
