Power Mirror problem
. I have PMS real bad
I took several pictures of the inside of my switch this weekend. I'll have to get them downloaded off my son's camera onto my laptop, and then I'll post them up.
Esentially, there are three multi-level metallic switches that are operated based upon which direction the position toggle switch is rocked. I ended up raising my contact points too high on all three positions and blew my fuse when I plugged the switch back in. For now, I've just purchased and installed a new switch ($24 from my local dealer, or $17 plus S&H from Ed at Y2K). I'm going to take some evening time this week to play with the contact positions some more, probably blow a couple more fuses in the process, and eventually get it fixed.
Having gone through the first attempt and seen it turn out the way it did, I believe the problem I was having was that one of the three contact points was too HIGH and needed to be pushed back down a bit. Instead, what I did was to push the others up just as high as that third one, and I think that's what blew the fuse... sending power to everything at once!
