Keeping my stock rotors -- I don't tow a whole lot (if at all), so I'm keeping them. Going for all four wheels though. What pads should I put on? Any tricks on these I need to know about? I've done breaks on all my other vehicles, so I'm not doing something new. Just haven't tore into these yet. I saw Scott's thread on the rear hubs. I'll have to order that special tool I guess. Any other tricks?
Joe, stocks are good, but until I spent the money and got PowerSlots on the front, left the rear stock and put Hawks LTS pads all around, I never knew one of these trucks would stop so dang quick. No more shimmy when stopping hard, no more vibration at 42-47mph. I had read about them for a long time thinking I didn't tow that much either, but man, I had no idea it would help that much.
just bought powerslot rotors and hawk lts pads for my truck. it wasn't from a site sponsor, but with 10% off and free shipping it was only $280. couldn't pass up that price.
Have you thought about having them cryo treated? I plan on getting the hawk pads and powerslot rotors and possibly having them cryo treated. There is a well known performance shop just down the road from me and have started to use this technique.
Joe I have stock rotors and Hawk Pads right now all the way around. I have powerslots that need to go on the front just don't have the funds to buy some new hawks to go on the front.
