Also check very carefully the wiring in the harness where it goes from the door to the body of the truck.
The constant flexing of the door opening and closing will eventually wear out the metal in the wiring and break it in half.
No clicking sound. just found it curious both went at the same time but in a different direction. come to think of it to move the right one out and the left one in requires the switch to move to the right for each mirror which would lead to a bad contact on the switch side of it. I think i solved my own problem
Pulled the switch apart. quiet a complex little set up there to I might add. Anyways, there are three metal contacts sitting up. just had to adjust one of them and I was good to go. Rang ford here and they wanted 75 bucks for a new one. So I saved myself some money to put towards more mods , lol.

That's an awfully high price. I checked online yesterday with Ed at Y2K, and he has the OEM Ford switch for only $17.
I'm going to try using my working switch from my F250 this weekend to see if that resolves my problem with the Excursion, and if it does, I'll first try taking the switch apart as well, and yes, Chirs, I'll take pictures.
Worst case, I'll order a new switch from Ed if I break the one I have.

You got that right m8. thats what really bugs me. you guys say go to walmart and get this or go here and get that for next to nothing. Over here you can triple the price. For instance - a can of PB blaster $20. Now I just looked at the Carter P4070 electric fuel pump $200. And no I didnt get any pics. It comes apart into three different sections. Just pry them apart gently and watch what goes where. Not to difficult.

Brian I know jack chit about customs laws but what if say "a friend" was to send you a "gift box" that had PB Blaster or what ever you needed how would that work?
The USPS has flate rate boxes and you can stuff a lot of "gifts" in them and the rate for them is the same no matter where it is sent.

I wonder if it might be worthwhile to have someone over here purchase the part for you and then ship it. I know the Carter pump is only about $80 over here, and I wouldn't think that S&H costs would be more than about $50-$60, but then again I could easily be too niave about the real world in terms of how Customs would handle that issue.

When J-L and I sent Danny (Mongo) a care package in Iraq, I used a flate rate box and on the customs declaration form I just put misc gifts or something along those lines and there was no problem. IIRC I used the $10 (+ -) box
That's what I was thinking, too, Jim. If he paid someone here to purchase and ship, the shipment could simply be a "gift". I do know that the few covers I've sent to Australia required a little more shipping cost, but not by very much.
