Tranny circulation issues

I have a F250 that I haul a 5th wheel with. I have been battleing this issue for a while now and it is gotten to where I cannot convince my wife to go too far from home.
I had my 97 transmission rebuilt a couple of years ago after we were stranded on the road with our dog and 2 small kids. When I had it rebuilt I included a triple clutch TC and a towing shift kit, I also included a MagnaHytec pan and external filter along with a temp guage. Oh yeah and an additional cooler. Every since then I have had a cooling issue that comes and goes. Sometimes the fluid is circulateing fine and the temp will stay around 160 f and then it will just stop getting to the Aux cooler. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? It is driving me crazy!

sounds like the thermostat in the bypass line on the side of the trans is giving u issues

There is no thermostat in the bypass line. There is a pressure relief valve, but no thermostat.

is this the one with the ball and spring? More like a check valve?

Yes, it's a ball and spring. It is not a check valve and it is not a thermostat. It is a pressure relief valve. If the coolers are plugged the pressure gets high and moves the ball off of the seat, allowing flow to the rear of the trans.
