AOD Tranny
Tranny removed from vehicle. how much wiggle play is there on the shaft? from where the shaft is out the rear of the tranny, where the governor assy is? or should I say " should there be any wiggle play at all?

Thanks mark! I got a used AOD tranny for cheap, claiming to be rebuilt awhile back but the tranny only ran for about 600 miles and sat for about 2 years. Would you know any tell tell signs if the gears/bands have been rebuilt without disassembling it all. The filter seems to have been changed. Oil seems to be alittle cloudy but red. Any other signs would be great! Thanks

Going back to my AOD tranny. I have found out the aod that I bought used has a longer shaft from the rear than my 4x4 aod. Can someone explain? and is there an easy exchange or fix without taking the guts out.
