afe vs 6637

ok az.scarcrow and i installed the 6637,and ran better then stock style then az.scarcrow read a write up on the afe 24-91042 5 layer filter inverted we found them on internet for $ 100.00 each shipped to front door,well they came in put mine on and because my truck is a 99 it got the air from fender no problem because my air comp for my DUAL train horns sit perfect in that space,i also cut out the fiberglass behind the grill next to the after cooler to allow more cold air to enter in engine compartment both sides {pics are below} after doing that it dropped engine temp by 12-16 degress it runs no matter pulling or not at 185-200 max engine temp,i installed afe today and it made my egt,s drop 50 degress,with no baffle in between filter and engine,so in my words spending money on cold air intakes is a big waste of money

Cutting out the header panel behind the grill is commonly known as the ZOODAD mod. so you can add that to your sig when you get a chance... Nice work guys!

Just be careful, too much air around (instead of through) the coolers could be bad.

i put a flow meter in engine compartment before and after 80% increase,witch dropped engine temp and more cool air{witch right now in az doesnt mean cool air its allways hot 115 air lol}
