Hey guys.. just thought I would share with you what I've done in the past week to the truck...
First off I replaced both front wheel bearing assemblies and calipers ! All new tie rods, ball joints and that wrapped up the mechanical part of thing !
My front fenders were rusted right out after replacing them 4 years ago... so 2 new front fenders and a set of bushwacker OE flares were installed ! Spent all day yesterday power polishing the whole truck and she's looking pretty good ! Still have a bunch of bush scratches down the sides and the usual rock chips, but I'm satisfied on how it looks for now ! Here's a couple pics !
Here are a couple more guys !!! Notice in the picture of the F350 badge... it is now chrome !! By accident, I spilled some lacquer thinner on them while cleaning the back side off and the black paint came right off... so I did the whole thing on both sides... I now have chrome badges and they look very cool ! If you do this .... make sure you use a soft cloth to rub the paint off... I scratched mine up a bit :-(
How many miles did you have, when you replaced the bearings and tie rods?
Thanks !!! My truck has 302,000 Kms ! I can't remember how many miles that would be ! I could have gotten away without doing all the tie rods... but I was in there and doing it... so I thought I would do them all !
What caused the fenders to rust out so quickly?? Did you have the fender flares before? I've heard they hold water and salt and can make things rust out quicker. I do like the look of them though, I've been tempted to go with that look.
Good job Russ. Is that your lunch box in back the truck?
I'm a very hungry and growing man Rick !! lol I run hounds and that is what they travel in ! The holes on the side are so they can have the heads out for smelling ! They can strike a lion or bear scent while driving down the road ! Works good !

I had those stainless flares on there before and I believe what you said is what happened... it just trapped the salt and sand back in there and worked away at it,.... I try and wash it out everytime I use the pressure washer... but it didn't work out ! I think these bushwacker ones won't be as bad for holding stuff in there !
Nice looking truck, I don't usually like fender flares but your look killer on the truck. How long did it take you for the mechanical part of the project?
