Clunking noise

Clunking noise
Hey guys, new to the forum. The other day I was pulling out of work and hit a nice big bump around 35 mph (going onto highway) and there was a loud slamming noise, like a hammer hitting metal. Now when I'm driving I hear a clunk coming from the wheels wells wheven I turn sharply or hit a bump. I'm thinking it's a CV joint (not sure if escapes have ball or CV joints)
. What do you think? I'm taking it to a mechanic on thurs but would just like to have an idea first.

I can't find it, but at one time I thought there was a thread about something similar. Most of the people said they had bad sway bar links. Climb under and grab the ends where they bolt on near the steering knuckle and see if there is any play.
But cv joints is as good a guess as this. Let us know.

mine clunked it was the sway bar end links if i rocked it hard enough it would clunk I checked mine and thought they where ok also .cv joints seem to clunk more as you turn and drive dont matter if you hit bumps in my dealings with them
